Does anyone know how to dispose of an old gas lawnmower? Our address is San Antonio but we live outside the city limits in Bexas County. I want an electric mower but must know how to dispose of the old one.

You could try putting it at the end of your driveway with a sign that says "Free". More than likely someone will take it off your hands.

If you drive by a trailer with lawn care equipment, stop and ask the 'boss' if he wants a used lawnmower. Or like Annie says above. Or Goodwill.

I don't think Goodwill will take anything that has a gas engine.

You could give it away on Craigslist.

Before you do, find out if there are any promotions at Home Depot or Lowes about trading in your old gas mower for a discount on an electric mower. Some years they do that.

Here's a CPS credit for purchasing an electric mower: Mow Down Smog Rebates see the list of approved electric mowers

(nothing about getting rid of the old one there, but someone on Craigslist will take it within an hour if you post it for free)

+1 on Craigslist, always works for me...

Just put free (broken?) lawnmower out front of xxx, if it's gone then someone beat you to it.

The way things disappear in this city do as suggested or put it in your garage and forget to put the door down. *Poof*

Put mine on craigslist (broken, not worth fixing). Within hours of posting it was gone.

Put it out on garbage day, guys might take it for the scrap metal alone.

Same as above...except I had TWO mowers to dispose of. Same guy took both mowers within an hour of posting on Craigslist.
