We have lived in Pearsall for 27 years and if I would have known 27 years ago what I know now about Pearsall, we would NOT have moved here and bought a house. To start with, the laws are not kept here, especially if you are related to the officer (which is highly possible), drug use and sales are high, the water pressure is really low, the schools are not good and I would not trust the small hospital here to treat a hang nail. We travel to San Antonio for our Doctors. It's a dirty little town. I definitely would not raise a child here.

Not much to Pearsall!! Wouldn't want to live there either. Wife's Aunt and Uncle owned an ran a produce business out of there. They lived in Inspiration Hills in S.A. Still some family lived in Pearsall and Charlotte!

Luckily a free house was part of the bargain for us to make the move to Pearsall. To say there isn't much here is an understandment. It's a 35+ mile drive to the nearest SuperWalmart even. I'd recommend living in one of the towns closer to SA and commuting.

I went fairly recently and I saw lots of chickens and roosters crossing the road there very casually. I guess that should tell you something about the pace of life there.

Never really been there (driven through it a couple of times), but it doesn't look that big on the map. Still, there's a lot of information on the Pearsall ISD web site so I;d recommend perusing through it to see if maybe it can answer some of your questions.

Looks like the typical, sleepy little Texas town. Some days I'd almost rather live somewhere like that but the wife would have nothing to do with it!

Good luck with your decision!

Cheers! M2

Pearsall has the highest teen pregnancy rate in all of Texas, according to Wikipedia. So this sleepy little town isn't always so sleepy.
