They broke a window and while my co-worker had an older model Camaro, which they just pulled back the window to open it, they took his pull-out radio, I had my detachable face on my person so they got nothing, but at least his window was not broken.

Paka, that is not only prudent advice, it is security-minded, and is exactly what is recommended by those in law enforcement. Rims if also done wrong will appear very ghetto as does tinted windows which also invite thieves if too dark because they want to know what is behind the tint they cannot see, so hope they have a flashlight since if not they will break in to take a look-see.

GPS units, hide them, leave not even hanging cords, hide shopping bags, hide everything!
Years ago there was crime there. At least you clarified that.

I agree...Let's invest in our urban core. My personal opinion having a store (HEB) or other would "kick start" the building and investment in our city core. Every time i am in San Francisco and NYC I never want to leave. Having that living, shopping, dining withing a few mile radius is amazing. A busy downtown where people live, work, eat will be my dream for SA

This is the vision our current mayor wants to see happen in downtown SA. With all of the development that's happening in and around downtown, things definitely seem to be rolling now.

Just outside of the city core-

Let's not forget Graham Weston and his push and his putting money into development downtown unlike we've ever seen in SA.

Alamo Colleges : San Antonio College : Business and Community : Tobin Lofts

I'm all for this particular development, as it will likely clean up that part of Main, which is currently home to a small group of crappy gay clubs. I'd rather there be no GLBT nightlife than what's there now. Would really like to see that part of Main revitalize sooner than later. SAC could really capitalize on their student body, new living spaces and retail.

I remember reading something on this a good while back. Any word on how much longer the plans will be kept private?

Yeah I doubt that's going to go over well with the rest of the gays in the city. We may not have the best gay bars, but at least we have them! I'll take that over no gay bars.

I live at 1221 Broadway and I love it here. These lofts are beautiful. The views of downtown from the rooftop pool and deck are beautiful. Seeing the luminaria chinese lanterns float in the sky was great. Unfortunately, it's too pricy for me to keep living here. I'll be living here until my lease is up in November.

Oh and as far as the whole HEB discussion is concerned, I go to the HEB on New Braunfels on the East Side as opposed to the Gucci B. I just don't care for the snootiness of Central Market. I may live in a beautiful place, but I sure as hell don't have to be snooty about it.
