Really, I have never liked WOAI. I haven't paid much attention t the rating race but I watch KSAT the most for the weather segments at 5/6/12.

I don't get what the big deal was with Chris Marrou. I remember the day he came to town and just never thought that much of him. Doesn't seem like he would be that hard to replace.

Personally, I think it was just the style of how he read the news. Not only did he read the news, but there were moments where he would tell you what he thought of what he just said. He wasn't afraid to give you his opinion while the cameras were on. Another thing was that he'd lived here for a good part of his life. When something happened, he could tell you a little bit about that area and any history that he knew about it. Watching him was like listening to your grandpa tell you a story. There was just a comfort and a security in his voice that drew you into the news. There aren't many reporters left like that anymore.

Don't watch KENS, but isn't it a duo anchoring? If they are going to blame poor ratings, why get rid of one and not both? How do they know Jeff was the problem?

Jeff does fly solo sometimes. So they might have used the ratings from when he is on his own.

Keep in mind that, through all of this, Jeff Vaughn drew a tough assignment, and that's replacing a legend. That's very hard to do, even at a number one station. Even though Joe Reinagel has fared very well on sports after replacing another legend, Dan Cook, you don't normally see success with the first person that takes over for a longtime anchor who just ruled the roost.

Hope that Goldblatt does well with this gig.

Have you watched Isis at 10 on KSAT? Not only is she gorgeous, but she is very professional, both in her persona and her wardrobe.

The entire Human Resources department at Belo (the company that owns KENS TV) should be replaced. They hire the most drab, personality-less, mundane type of news anchors.

After Chris Marrou retired, I haven't watch KENS TV.
