I plan to accept a job and looking to be within three miles from both USAA and the medical district. My wife and I are looking for either a two or three bedroom w/2-car attached garage townhome or home. Hoping to keep the rent under $1,500 range.

I noticed Sienna Ridge Apartments on Babcock Road look interesting, as they have single story apartments with attached garages. I also noticed a some rental homes within a mile west of the medical district that is still within three miles from USAA, but I am unfamilar with that neighborhood.

We are relocating from Plano, TX, so there will be a small adjustment, because north Plano/ South Frisco has a lot of newer shopping areas. I would greatly appreciate feedback from members.

I recommend The Preserve on Fredericksburg. Has everything you're looking for and is within 3 miles of USAA and the Medical Center. Plus you're close to SA's newer shooping areas: La Cantera, Eilan and The Rim.

They look nice; however, 1705 for a 2 bedroom is a little expensive. I noticed apartments across the street are half the price. There seems to be a large variance of apartments that are less than desirable across from each other.

I'm not sure what you're looking at but they have 2 bedroom 2 bath units that are under $1,500.

I spoke with them yesterday and they only have an apartment available with a two-car garage on October 9th for $1705. The apartments available only have a one-car garage.

There are some less than desirable apartment complexes in the area.

A lot of the ones within walking distance of USAA are filled almost entirely with the outsourced employees who work at USAA, or they were several years ago when I was looking.

The ones on Babcock that you mentioned, Sienna Ridge, look nice. I've noticed them just when I was driving past and thought they looked like a good place to live. That's only about 5 miles from La Cantera and The Rim shopping centers, there are plenty of new shopping centers in the area, so you'll likely find enough shopping to keep you happy.

It's a little noisy living in the medical center area because there are sirens and helicopters all night. You get used to it after a while...we just kept a fan on either side of our bed for the white noise.

2 car garage in a townhouse is a tough find in the medical center. You can find nice places ~$1,000ish if you're willing to go to a 1 car garage.

Try searching for residential rentals on realestate.sabor.com. Select "Residental Rental" in the dropdown box.

Here's one that looks interesting. $1195/month, 2 car garage, quiet neighborhood.
