I am sooooo disappointed in the meat department at HEB. Does anyone have suggestions of where to buy good quality meat?

Have you tried Central Market? It's HEB owned but their quality of meat is excellent. Whole Foods would be another option.

Costco has WONDERFUL meats...you should give them a try. CHOICE meats...you pay more, but man, is it ever worth it.

I kinda relate...we can get steaks cut to order at HEB and they are just not as tasty as they are from COSTCO.

Totally forgot Costco!! I get my tenderloins there and they are awesome. Also, they have wonderful lamb.

Try Culebra Meat Market. There's a few locations in town.

The one on Potranco, outside 1604, is kind of cramped, but good meats there...

Almost any Culebra Meat Market around the city. Although I've only used one of the locations I've heard they're all of similar quality. Also, if you want exotic meats there's the cleverly named Exotic Meats off 410 near the airport.

I'd recommend them. Good meat and good prices as well.
