I recall seeing this on the tube. Anybody have a handle on the details?

My interest is not negative about the event. Don't worry!

Haven't heard about it, and there's nothing on the SAPD Facebook page...

You could try calling the SA chapter of Wounded Warrior at (210) 569-0300.

Let us know what you find out!

Cheers! M2

Got a answering system that takes 5 to 7 days to return a call. Oh, well.

It was a good tip, M2. Maybe someone else knows or I'll call SAPD and find their PR guys.

There was a Wounded Warrior Project skeet shoot event at the NSSA complex back on Sept 22 (IIRC?)
I was invited by a business associate but unable to attend. Not sure if this is of any relation to your inquiry.

Thanks, the thing I saw on the tube had vets shooting at steel poppers with what the called national level shooters. Handguns with optics.

The reason I ask is that there is a controversy brewing that the WWP project is not firearms friendly and dissociating themselves from companies and events that deal with firerms.

Wounded Warriors Project doesn't deal with companies involved with Firearms? - Page 2 - THR - see post #41.

I take no stance on the debate this minute but remembered the event I saw on the tube and was curious about the relationship.

I would like more info.

Dang, I was doing tactical medical training with some SAPD officers this evening and one had a WWF shirt on. Unfortunately, things were a bit hectic and I didn't get a chance to ask him if he knew anything.

There are a lot of prior military and Reservists in the SAPD (much do to the veterans hiring preference), and while I read a similar thread about the WWF not being "gun friendly" most of those I know involved in that organization are pro-gun types.

I am not sure why they would have that stance, but I too want to refrain from debating it; I just am glad to see the SAPD contributing to this great cause!

Cheers! M2

WWP seems to be having a change of heart. The thread I referenced continues and they will be on Tom Gresham's show and have changed their web site.

This kind of thing happens when a charity decides to go off mission and wander into some politics.

Happened to the brest cancer group awhile ago. Use your charity for its mission and not a platform for other causes.
