I just saw a commercial for the San Antonio Auto and Truck Show currently going this weekend on at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

I know this event has diminished over the years, has anyone got to this one and give us an idea on if it's worth it?

I see entry is now up to $10/person...

Cheers! M2

A few years ago I went to one at the Alamodome. I saw lots of interesting and cool old school cars and trucks...Although I wasn't much in the mood to be out in the rain I went for the main purpose of meeting R. Lee Ermy..(Gunnery Sgt Hartmann) from the movie Full Metal Jacket. I waited in line for 3 hours but it was truly an honor to meet him and take pics.

This is the new car show, not a "custom" car show.

They continue to miss so many car makers, it's not even worth my time to make the trek a few blocks to the convention center to see it. I'm headed to the Chicago, LA and Tokyo auto shows this year, so I don't know how much I'll be missing not hitting the local production.

I do wish we had a better show. The state of this year's show is depressing indeed.

Actually stopped going years ago.....to be honest, there's just not that much out there that interests me, and the "concept cars" and such, while neat, are just not what I'm interested in. I'm sure there's gear heads out there that like the new iron, but I'd much rather look at the old classics!

Calling the SA Auto Show an auto show is a joke. Both BMW and Mercedes continue not to be represented there each year. If you have gone to any of the bigger car shows such as the one in LA, N.Y., Tokyo, and shoot, even the Dallas and Houston shows, then you know how pathetic the SA Auto show is.

I am surprised we even have a car show.

As for BMW and Mercedes, seems like most locals go the lease route than buy them from looking at the ads in the paper every Sunday.

We went out to the show on Sunday (on the deal of the day SA) and it was fun. We went in the morning so we would miss the lines. They had most cars represented beside the ones mentioned above. Range Rover, Audi, and Lexus had a strong (if not complete line up) showing but for some reason I didn't see dodge?
