It's not a tough concept to grasp, the posted speed limit is the maximum speed one is allowed to travel on the stretch of roadway where it is posted. Exceed that, and you can be cited. No "trap" involved!
Okay.

First, you're not a moderator so don't go telling people what they can and cannot do in the forums.
Then all of you watch your language. I am sure the mods in here are going to take notice very soon.

Reminds me of these morons on Cops or other similar shows, that are hauling 50 lbs. of pot in the trunk of their car down the highway, and get pulled over for not using their turn signal, expired stickers, burned out tailight,or some other minor infraction.

Bottom line is.....if you don't like getting a ticket, don't give them a reason to pull you over in the 1st place! Simple.

You can get this dropped with some easy steps that others have already outlined here. I wouldn't worry too much, as this officer didn't follow protocol when you asked to see the radar and intimidated you into thinking he was legally correct. He wasn't.

Arguing with the good ol' boys who frequent this board will get you nowhere: Get the car inspected, find an attorney and stick it to the man. You can fight back and win. He's only a cop... And from the sounds of it, a cop who enjoys throwing his power around. Use the power you have as a citizen to make this go away. The last thing SAPD needs is more bad press.

This should help you get started:

Good luck,
