I am thinking about moving to Texas and would like to know what are some nicer areas. I know that everywhere you go there are good places and bad places so....I just wanted to know about the San Antonio area and the neighborhoods and suburbs.

what are some nice areas that's closer than Boerne, Bulverde, New Braunfels? like 15, 20 min from downtown or so?

Olmos Park, King William District, there are many. These are in the city limits, and 15 to 20 min. drives. King William District is in downtown, but you'll have a hard time finding a home for less than a million. Depends on your budget. Keep in mind though, if you want to be 15 min. or so from downtown you will be living in the San Antonio City Limits. Oakwell Farms is nice. If you want to spend less there are several neighborhoods just north of 410 off Blanco that are nice. Hidden Forest, Deerfield, etc...

Olmos Park and Alamo Heights are more like five minute drives to downtown...fifteen or twenty minutes would be more along the lines of those neighborhoods off 281 and Bitters by the park, or the ones like Whispering Oaks off NW Military.

This may just be my opinion, but im a young healthy fast moving guy, and it takes like 5 min. on average just to get into the car, and get to the front of most neighborhoods, maybe past one red light if your lucky. Just a thought.

thanks guys and to be specific my budget is around 300k to 350k, I would like it to be a nice area like low crime, above middle class, near downtown and nice neighborhood, house size I would like it to be 3000 sq ft or bigger with 1/3 acre or bigger lot, what are some places that I can search based on my requirements?
