I am glad I am not the only one who thinks that we get shortchanged on the take out soup! The Hot and Sour is my favorite item on their menu. The rest is good, but I know a bunch of places that can do better on different things, but they are king in the soup dept.
I have only been to two locations, one in Herndon, VA and one in Austin, TX. I got the soup to go in Austin and I was very disappointed with the quantity. I filled 5 of the little cups in Herndon, eat in, and still had plenty left in the bowl when I left, perhaps 2 or even 3 more possibly. The take out portion only filled 4 similar cups at home and the bowl was empty.
Exactly how do you ask them to give you the same as eating in? I need this verbage for when I go back for more soup!

We had Pei-Wei tonight! The Udon noodle bowl with pork is so yummy! My hubby likes the Honey-Seared shrimp. And the sauce with the Crab Rangoon is delicious! We go to the 1604-Potranco location.

We got take-out from the PeiWei's on Bandera Road this evening and the portion sizes appeared equal to what we've experienced dining-in there. The place is pretty good; but my wife likes it more than I do.
Cheers! M2

I love their Kung-Po Shrimp and of course their lettuce wraps are the best anywhere, but I, too, have one problem with them. While the portions are significantly smaller that what you get at their parent company, PF Changs, the prices are not THAT much lower. I think they are above my personal price point for a restaurant where you have to stand in line and wait and order at a counter like a fast food place. I just brought my wife some take out from there (my wife likes it better than me, too) and it was like $18 for one main item and one small appetizer. I don't mind paying that per person for a sit-down-and-be-served restaurant.

For what Pei Wei is (national chain, china-thai fusion), it's not bad. I would like their curries to have a little more authentic kick, but it's understandable considering they have to cater to a wide, and often times bland, palette.
It's PF Changs that I despise.

Ironic!
Too coincidental that you all revived this thread! I just sent a "comment" (ahem!) to them this morning about our visit to the one on Potranco last night. It was my youngest's birthday (6) and she requested it. Now, when the group orders 4 adult meals and 2 kid's meals, wouldn't you think that the kids meals would be served first, or at least significantly close to the same time as the adult meals? Well, that's not what happened. All the adult meals where served, with no "the kid's meals will be out soon, we're just waiting on...." or any other indication like that. The rest of us waited until the little girls' food came. 15 minutes later!!! I kid you not. The rest of us ate cold food. Since it was my daughter's birthday, I tried to keep as much attention off of the delay as possible, so as not to bum her out. (I mean, c'mon! The kid was wearing a princess crown and a ribbon that said, "It's My Birthday!" Yeesh!!) But you can bet I fired off an email this morning!
No response from them yet.
(Oh, and to the poster that always complains about rotten kids ~ if you would have been there, you would have seen that what I've said is true! My daughters waited patiently, staying in their seats the entire time, not even wiggling, while everyone else had food in front of them and theirs was nowhere in sight! )

Delay in kids food
Seriously, I had that same excuse. Eatting with a three year old and my best friend. Our meals came out fast, but the 3 years old's didn't. We asked three times for her food. She became restless, our food was cold. Experience was ruined.
Otherwise, I love their Honey Chicken...
I was so mad!!
