Still, given that people who live in the new developments pay a significant amount in taxes, a solution is eventually found, but public infrastructure like this can take years longer than the initial private construction.

To say that San Antonio has no potential because of a delay in some highway construction is pretty narrow-minded. That's like saying Houston has no potential as a city because of the outrageous traffic and the crime.

Yeah we're workin on it. When you have so many go getters and trend setters in one place things can go wrong sometimes, for example bad traffic and the crime. Im just happy we can still function and prosper like a real city.

Is this really her fault? It sounds like the study is a federal requirement and then this board or council or whatever changed the plans thinking they could slip them in without needing to have the lengthy study done and the feds said they needed to start over.

Yeah, this one has nothing to do with issues on the 281. This on is on SAMPO.

"Under way since 2009, the analysis originally involved looking at the environmental and socioeconomic impacts of toll roads if they were added on Loop 1604 between Interstate 35 and U.S. 90.

That had to change after the San Antonio Metropolitan Planning Organization voted last summer to move forward on a project to add nontoll lanes to Loop 1604 between Bandera and Potranco Road."

yes, they (281 and 1604) were both done together, and both would have been completed by now (well 1604 might have still been under construction)

I don't know enough to know if this is accurate or not, but the real cause of this new delay is because this council tried to slip a change in, not because the study is required.
