My son, a 19 yr old Marine, and his wife had to leave their apartment yesterday. They live three miles from the San Marcos fire... which you can find on any of the San Diego news websites. Wouldn't you know their car is in the shop getting repaired, too? Fortunately, Marines help each other and they got a ride out of there and a place to stay overnight.
This was one worried mom... I've been listening to the live feed online from the San Diego news stations. Good news is they are moving here by Christmas!

My friends still there are suffering. I have a friend in San Diego who has lost their home. Another evacuated and their Arrowhead home most likely lost. One poor gal in Canyon Country evacuated with flames within 400 ft of her home to only go to a home that required evacuation the next day.

I am told the winds are so bad they can't do drops and the fire jumps so rapidly and irratically that they can't get a line going.

Fortunately, the wind is calmer tonight (Tuesday) and they are predicting the winds to shift soon.

My prayers go out.

With 500,000 evacuated in SD alone, this is truly the worse the 03. I heard kudos being given to the govenor who they are saying is acting wonderfully.

To think some of these fires have been set is beyond comprehension.
