There are a number of places to watch a game downtown (we usually go to Blue Star or Beethoven's), but they're not likely to be filled with Colorado Rockies fans.
The Ticket downtown next to the Hyatt. Great crowd. Lots of big HD TVs. Most of the people were Sox fans but still a great crowd. I have much respect for Sox fans so it wasn't hard to be basically the only Rockies fan in the whole place.

If you're close to downtown, go to The Ticket for Series games!!

I have to admit that although I am not much of a baseball fan, I had previously been rooting for the Red Sox however after last night’s story on WOAI about Mike Coolbaugh. (?sp) I have to admit that I wouldn’t mind seeing the Rockies win it. I don’t want to get flamed as I said I am not much of a baseball fan. When his wife was saying that her son asked her when their dad was going to finish playing for heavens team and come home I just about lost it.

Not sure why you would get flamed for favoring the Rockies. The Sox fans I know are more about their team than trash talk.

Anyway, the story is that Mike Coolbaugh was the first base coach for the Rockies AA club. One day during a game, he got hit with a ball and was killed instantly. The Rockies team voted to give an equal share of their playoff winnings to the widow of Coolbaugh who was pregnant when he died. It's going to be a big check.

The reason I mentioned it was because how easily I changed who I am rooting for. Thanks for outlining the story.

I was in a place the other day that looked like a great place to watch a game. They had more giant screen HDTV's than I could count and you got to sit in really confortable recliners. I think the name of the place was Conn's are something like that.

Used to go there all the time to watch the Buc's games. Warehouse atmosphere with picnic tables. Not the greatest place, but definitely will have the series on. Off Bandera, about 3-4 miles inside I-410.

Yes, but their service is lousy and the food stinks. And the waiters all dress like salespeople.
