Default Colorado transplant seeks place to watch World Series

I moved to SA from Denver 6 years ago and have yet to find a place near downtown with a great atmosphere for watching sports. I don't mean "Spurs". A lot of places in town advertise themselves as sports bars when they really mean "Spurs bars."

Anyway, if anyone knows a good place to catch the World Series *near downtown*, let me know.

Thanks.

Wow, a Rockies fan! I've heard rumors they existed, but I never thought they were actually true.

There are millions of us. You'll see a stadium packed with them on FOX TV starting this weekend. Tickets for the Series sold out in about 2 hours (after fans crashed the online ticket buying system the first day).

Try Babe's Old Fashioned Hamburgers on Fredericksburg Road. It's not really all that close to "downtown", and I haven't been there in a month of Sundays, but it is baseball-themed, so they are probably showing the Series.

You don't think they'll have it on at Fatso's? That's my sports bar...you can watch pretty much whatever sport is being televised there. I've gone in during the regular season and asked to watch a Cubs game and they'll change a TV over to it for me.

I'd say your best bet would be to fly back to Denver. Meet up with friends and have a Grand ole time you probably wouldnt have in San Antonio.
This is a Historic event....the Rockies in the Series.....enjoy in Denver!!!

I bet there are a lot of bandwagon Rockies fans here in Texas. Colorado is much closer than Boston, and they don't talk funny there!

Well, you can hardly blame the bars for being "Spurs Bars" when that's the only major sports team in San Antonio.

There are a number of places to watch a game downtown (we usually go to Blue Star or Beethoven's), but they're not likely to be filled with Colorado Rockies fans.
