So my license expires Friday. Oops meant to do this weeks ago. The DPS website states Spring Break is one of the busiest times. Plus I have to go Friday when my husband is working at home and can watch the kids. Wondering if any brave soul wandered into any office this week and can give me an idea how awful it is. Trying to figure out how nice I am going to have to be to my husband to make up for not doing it while school was in session

Thanks! Hideous picture last time. Hoping for a better one. I'm over way NC so I wasn't sure if it would be better to go to the new service center or just chance Universal City. I guess I could just get on Huebner and stay on it all the way. If I had planned better I was going to drop the kids at school, head for the Schertz office then hit the San Marcos outlet for a few hours but apparently I forgot I was having a birthday. Either old age or denial...

Not that you'd want to risk driving on an expired license but you do have two years to renew an expired one. Drunk drivers get a pass in SA so pretty sure even if you are pulled over, say on Monday next week, you'd be fine.

I drove on an expired license for 19 days. Absolutely nothing happened to my driving abilities. Funny how that works.

If you get pulled over without a license like I did one day by the Wheatley Courts, they even brought out the dogs and everything, depending on the officer(s) they might cite you or just let you go depending on the situation too.

They let me go without even a ticket since my wife was with me and had her license. Had she not they were going to impound the car and make us walk while citing me.

In either case if you do get a ticket for driving without a license I don't think there is a way out of it but I have never been in that position.

I do know that if you get cited for not having insurance and you obtain it before your court date and show proof at court that the judge will usually dismiss the case. Maybe if you get cited but get a license before your court date it might work the same but somehow I would imagine they take a dimmer view on driving without a license than on driving without insurance.

Some places that ask for a photo ID will not accept an expired driver's license.
