Good, reasonably-priced vet??
We just adopted a cat and need to find a vet to check her out. I've heard that several area vets charge exorbitant prices. We just need an exam per the ACS contract-shots are up-to-date. We are NW -New Guilbeau area.

Go to Affordable Pet Care on Grissom Road. No frills, just affordable pet care. They've been there forever.

I'd recommend St. Francis of Assisi on Potranco. They are awesome. They really helped my family when we had to put one of our dogs down. My other Dog continues to go their for all routine check ups and anytime we need boarding. They 4 different vets.My Dogs vet is named Dr. Joel Huen.Hope this helps.

I can tell you where NOT to go to... Hill Country Animal Hospital. They are very expensive... I wanted to just get yearly shots for my two dogs and they wouldn't do it unless they saw a vet and had a check-up (it's been less than a year since their check-up, but it was in Oklahoma so doesn't count). I can't get out of there for less than $300. They put me though a guilt-trip because I won't do "more" for my dogs like get their teeth cleaned yearly. I thought every few years was good. Then, they make my dogs get heartworm testing even though I've had them on prevention (which costs a ton on its own) for 5 years without missing a dose!
Also, they were way behind schedule for all three of my appts. I can understand once in awhile, but not every time-- and it's always at least 25 min behind.
I'm switching... maybe going to try the vet on Potranco next to Burger King.

Pavlov's on Bandera Road, just north of the WalMart right next to the car wash. Been taking all our dogs there for a long time, and am always happy...
Cheers! M2
