After reading the blog and viewing pictures, my question is why did they close. Did they buy it without inspecting it?

If you are investing so much money, I would have had them fix this before closing.

It just seems like there are so many things wrong that I would not have closed on the house.

DR ,KB, Pulte, etc. etc. etc...
They all use the same quality of materials and contstruction crews. CODE is CODE.
The true talent is the superintendent. He or she has to know what they are doing so that they catch the "short cuts" that ALL contractors are guilty of taking.
Get to know your super and everything will be OK.
