Which is more family friendly ?
As a whole, Austin or San Antonio?
What would you say are the major differences between the 2 cities?

One is a city where the majority of people are real. The other is a city full of people that are fake and into caring what other people think about them.

OK, to answer your question without a riddle, as much as I loved Austin when I was younger and single; once I got married and had kids, there was no competition...San Antonio is by far the more family-friendly town! Nothing against Austin, it is a cool, hip, young college town with lots to do, but for more family-oriented activities San Antonio is by far a better choice. Lots of amusement parks and museums, great restaurants and plenty of outdoor activities to boot.
Austin has outstanding bars and places to mountain bike. I really have never thought of it as being "Texan" as much as San Antonio. There is a lot more Texas culture and history here, Austin is more modern...and expensive, which is another reason San Antonio got the nod (plus there were a lot more job opportunities down here for me, although I do have a Masters in IT and I am sure I could have found a job up there if I had to). Plus, San Antonio is a military town, so that also makes it more family-friendly.
Both are great towns, but distinctly different. If I were young and single, the choice would be Austin; but being married with children (always makes me laugh when I say that!), San Antonio is the place to be!
Cheers! M2

While I think that both cities have their own charm...Austin is JUST the place your girls want to be teenagers with all the rowdy college boys....does that help your decision???
