Don't worry about speed traps, just don't speed.

I think they mostly use the cars with stealth graphics and just drive down the highway until they catch someone. You can't really plan for that because they can be anywhere and you can't identify them in your rearview mirror, you can only see the graphics when the car is beside you.

There are too many little cities around here too and some of the little cities make most of their money from speeding tickets.

And then there's the sheriff's department and the state troopers and the constables and all of them can write tickets.

Speed enforcement is not a priority in the city, except in school zones, but don't drive fast in any of the incorporated suburbs.

Schertz outside of 1604 on 35, Shavano Park, Leon Valley, perhaps Castle Hills, Alamo Heights and the red light cameras in Balcones heights (only ticket I have ever gotten and i was turning on red...). Basically anywhere that says you are "not in San Antonio" will be a speed trap. There are small municipalities that dot the metro area that will ticket you for speeding.

I-10 between 410 and downtown anytime after morning rush hour and evening rush hour will always have at least 1 traffic officer.

School zones, Castle Hills, Shavano Park, Hollywood Park, Balcones Heights, Alamo Heights, Schertz are all heavily patrolled and have all been known to issue citations for 1 MPH over.

Shavano Park, Castle Hills (where St. Anthony is, cops galore for that street with the private prep school yet none for Nimitz and Lee just a few blocks away).

So many people just worry about those stationary targets. Heaven help them when that Corvette pulls up and turns on the siren. Rule of thumb no more than 5 over unless you are in town and near a school. If you are on an interstate 10 over is my rule.
