Default Are there Hippies in San Antonio?

Or is that just an Austin thing?

Amen

San Antonio is still very much a military town. Even with the loss of Kelly and Brooks AFB. We still have Lackland, Randolph, and Fort Sam. Not to mention the great number of military who retire here. That's not to say we don't have any."Hippies" Of course we do. But nothing like Austin. Austin is young and liberal thinking. San Antonio is old, laid back, friendly, and not to mention a way better place for a family. That's just my view of course.

Actually, I am retired military and haven't had a haircut in two years, I own a VW and sometimes on the weekends I won't shower on Saturday. Plus I love the music of the 1960s, so I might qualify as a hippy. But I have a fulltime job, a graduate degree and am working on a second one, I also drive a Jeep (and my VW is a Passat), and the only reason I am growing my hair is to donate it to charity (Locks of Love); so maybe not.

smuboy86, does anyone sell that as a bumper sticker??

A friend of mine (artist Aaron Forland) is behind the whole KSAL thing, it's meant to be ironic, he actually LOVES San Antonio. Here's the KSAL myspace page, it should say where you can buy, or get for free, a sticker (they're kinda on the small side - him being a "starving artist" and all that): MySpace.com - Keep San Antonio Lameâ„¢ - 102 - Male - SanAnto, TEXAS - www.myspace.com/ksal

...and for laughs, here's mine (if you've ever been curious as to what this rabble-rousing "Googie" jerk looks like ): MySpace.com - wilkinson sword - 99 - Male - SAN ANTONIO, Texas - www.myspace.com/wilkinson_sword
