So, get there dead. Brilliant!

I've only lived here for about a year, so I gotta know, has it been this way for a while, or is it something relatively new?

It could never be as bad as it is here in South Florida!
Miami Drivers top the list for Red Light Runners!
(They also run over more defenseless pedestrians that anywhere else in the world!)
They NEVER use their turn signals, they speed up when others try to merge, drive recklessly, rudely, irresponsibly and angrily!
Consequently, there are more accidents here, as well!

(So, of course, we pay up the wazoo for auto insurance! Ugh!)

I miss Texas drivers!

It's never been as bad as it is right now. It seems to get progressively worse every year. Construction, more cars on the road, and lives that get busier by the minute are just 3 of the excuses I can come up with. We just need to "Drive Friendly" even though it is not the GC thing to do. (grammatically correct, in case you missed the whole entire thread devoted to that little chestnut)

Trust me Traffic light cams do nothing but generate revenue. Most times they are set short so you get nailed on yellow. You might as well sell off the rest of your rights too.
San Antonio severely lacks traffic enforcement and drivers education.
Nothing is going to change until you get them. There is no reason this city should have traffic problems, they are generated by the utter lack of abilty of the drivers(including law enforcement).

Ok for those opposed to traffic cameras....

Do you really expect the police to monitor each and every intersection? Impossible!

Cameras are the best route...there is no other way. Also, when they are found guilty of running reds, you fine the hell out of them. Make an example that they will never forget.

A friend telling another friend that they got fined $1000.00 for running a red, will make the other friend think twice.

I think mandatory driver education (including some basic courtesy along with the rules of the road) would go a long way to creating better drivers in San Antonio and in Texas.
