Have a friend that is currently using Criket to make phone calls to Mexico. I'm not very familiar with the pay-as-you-go services like Criket / Vonage, etc (I have ATT), but she is looking to switch from Criket since I believe you get charged to call to cell phones but not land lines.

Does anyone have experience with these services? What is a good plan/price/package? Will just be calling to Mexico from here in San Antonio (cell to cell).

Thanks!

Cricket International add on : Unlimited International and Long Distance Calling | Cricket Wireless

Barring that, Google Voice, Vonage, Magic Jack, etc.

Too many cheap options to pay large amounts. Be aware, that calls to cell phones in Mexico can be more expensive on some plans.

I believe she already has this plan - since she needs to call cell phones in Mexico, she is looking for an inexpensive alternative

Our nanny has always just used calling cards. There are also calling plans online that you can get that are cheaper than calling cards. Same premise, but no actual card. It was very cheap.

Then Google Voice, Magic Jack, or Vonage would work...
