Usually reputation software has rules in it that say you have to give X number of other people positive reputation before you can add to someone's reputation a second time... this is built in to prevent two people from just bumping each other up continually.

I can second the recommendation for Fossil Rim. There is usually a buy 1 get 1 free admission coupon in the Dallas Entertainment coupon book - if you can find one of those for cheap it may be worth it...

Has anyone been to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch? It doesn't have the camping / overnight options that Fossil Rim does, and doesn't look as big - but might be a fun side trip when we take the kids to see the cavern.

I would be happy to share some of the photos we took on the trip if I can get my son to help me upload some photos for you.

It was awesome to be able to actually sit in our van (it was converted so that it was topless except for a tarp kinda shade cover) and feed the animals...they came right up to eat without any reservations...I'll see if I can upload 3-4 of the really good ones when Rob gets home (I am about the MOST computer challenged person you will ever meet).

If you decide to stay in the lodge, it is VERY NICE...full service bar on the "honor" system, very nice viewing decks and a fireplace in each room (we did not use ours, but did opt to sleep with the sliding glass door on our room wide open for the wonderful fresh air all night. The only issue I had was we had queen size beds...two in our room. After having a king size bed for the last 25 yrs, we are NOT queen size bed folks anymore in our sleeping habits~almost thing the two twins would have been better. We had to learn how to change positions in unison all night!

We've done Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch (broken link) a couple of times, my kids and I enjoy it, but the ostriches scare the bejesus outta my wife! I guess that's because one stuck its head into our minivan (through her window) going after food. I have been trying to get her to go back there in the open Jeep; but she'll have none of that! Actually, I just noticed this on their web site:

Note: Jeeps without doors not allowed.
Bummer!

We haven't been to Fossil Rim but it looks nice. However, a four hour drive versus 45 minutes is a factor. Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch may not be quite as big, but it's closer and half the price. However, now that I find out I can't take my doorless Jeep, there goes that from the weekend adventure list!

Cheers! M2
