I am moving to San Antonio for a new job soon. I am coming from Long Beach CA, and I don't think I can survive without living near or on water.
I know that Canyon Lake and Medina Lake are semi- close to SA, but I was
wondering if anyone knows of other smaller lakes that allow Personal Water Craft near San Antonio that are closer than Canyon. I don't think I can
make the commute from Canyon, because I have an 8 year old and I can't be
that far away from her every day, since it's just her and I, and I don't know
anyone at all. How far is the commute (time wise) from Canyon Lake to
the De Zavala exit off I-10? I see it on the map, but have no clue how traffic is on those roads.
Thanks

I'm not sure of the exact commute time, but I think you already hit the nail on the head. I don't think you will be comfortable being that far from her on a daily basis, at least until you get a support system in place. Find a place with a pool! You are going to have many other things to get used to, so I wouldn't worry about the ocean--we aren't that far from the coast anyway. Good luck to you both, and I hope you both like it here!

Medina Lake will be closer to that area than Canyon Lake. Traffic is pretty rotten coming from either area, though.

Id say Medina Lake as well. I live in Helotes and the lakes only about a 15 min drive for me max. Loop 1604 is around 15 mins as well.
