Currently, there's "no city taxes" where we are building. However, the community in Helotes where we were going to buy in will probably be annexed in the near future resulting in higher taxes.

Is there a way to find out if one's neighborhood will become part of the city and at which time?

Is the community in the city of Helotes? If so, then you don't have to worry about being annexed.

Yes, it was. The sales folks may have given us false information.

Helotes is very unlikely to be annexed, SA tried to annex Helotes in the 80's and they fought tooth and nail for it not to happen and since then the ciy has just left them alone. The fight in Helotes is probably stronger now than back in the 80's.

Back in 1981, San Antonio tried to annex the Helotes area; however, SA finally allowed that areas voters to approve their own city. San Antonio can not annex another incorporated city (like Helotes). It can only annex unincorporated county areas either voluntarily (property owners ask the city to be incorporated) or involuntarily that will take 3 years to complete.

You're right, it was incorporated into its own city.
