That was not the best site. Not even by a long shot.

IMO, it was the best site from the standpoint of being located closest to the population (and affluence) center of Bexar County. I seem to recall that the team was leaning toward a location north of Bexar Co. to draw Austin residents to games.

Oh wow, the Jaguars blacked out, again! With a team that is 7-3, you would think they wouldn't black out. I know for a fact SA can do better than Jacksonville.

Goes back to the point of the outlet mall stadium in San Marcos or Canyon Lake Stadium New Braunfuels, might as well put the team in Round Rock with the Express because that is the closest baseball team major or minor to SA or ATX in my opinion. It will have to be a joint effort from SA and ATX.

It lacked in infrastructure as well ad land adjacent for any future development. The best side in SA is in the downtown area, bar none. And the nonsense that is "put it here so other metro residents will come" is foolish. I doubt anyone would turn back or not come to a game if they had to drive 10 more miles to a stadium after driving 40-50 already. The best location will be one that not only attracts people for a game but also for pre and post game activities, whether it's shop, eat or watch a movie, etc.

For crying out loud, our 4-time championship basketball team can't even sell out playoff games!

What the hell are you talking about? Spurs finals tickets sold out in 30 seconds after going on sale.

I bought tickets to a WC final home game against Utah last year from Ticketmaster the day before the game in '07. There were still tickets available for walk ups on game day. Not all of the playoff games sold out.

BTW, I was offered presale tickets to this year's playoff games based on that purchase in '07. That tells me Spurs tickets are not selling like they used to.

Surely you remember game 1 of last year's conference finals. It wasn't a sell-out. In fact, I think there were something like 3,000-5,000 seats left.
