I hate it when I come home with the fajita platter, have a teeny amount of meat, and a HUGE amount of tortillas, which are usually not even cooked fully and taste pasty to me.

Never understood the attraction to Taco Cabana. To me, it's like a small step up from Taco Bell with alcohol available.

I've noticed that the portions are larger when we go inside and order than when we go through the drive through.

The queso has been watery for years now. Happy hour is ok there. Brisket tacos are solid. They aint got nothing on Palapas beef fajita tacos though. Anybody ever go to the very first one? You're cool if know exactly where it was, is, located.

You pays ya money... You takes ya chances

It's Taco Cabana. If you want drive-thru Mexican, I'd suggest Las Palapas for better quality meat and tacos that are fully cooked

TC's fajitas have been off my list for years. Always tough meat, yuck. I do like the brisket tacos though.

Portion sizes seem to change depending on what side of town you are on. I have found that the southside TC's serve a much fatter taco. I used to order 2 bean & cheese for each of my kids, then 2 plain tortillas, and I could remove half of each of their tacos to make myself 2 and they still had a good sized taco after that!

True. I never ever get the super nachos for this reason unless I go inside (and preferably during happy hour when they are $1.50 off) -- if you go inside they are enough to share... but in the drive through nope!

Honestly, we usually only eat there because it is A) close (we have one 3 blocks away) and B) familiar, honestly. We know the menu, it's open all night, good in a pinch but I prefer other places for Tex-Mex.

Winner winner chicken dinner!!! Although I am not as cool as you. Had no clue it was a DQ beforehand. I just remember the limited parking and it was a tiny place. Much more of a cozy feel. Not like today....sigh....

I haven't been to a Taco Cabana in 10 years. If I'm on the northside, its Las Palapas. If I am near home, Mama Margie's all the way!
