Why don't you go to the Dallas Tamale Factory on W.Davis and Zang (I believe) in North Oak Cliff, there's even one in Lewisville they have pretty good tamales.

You can also find a good panaderia at La Michoacana on Blanco south of 410. And you will find a lot of traditional latino products there as well. When I walk in there, I feel like I'm in a tendajo in Matamoros.

Also try the west side, on Commerce and old highway 90, Culebra, Bandera. Here you will find tortillerias, panaderias, carnicerias, vulcanizadoras, etc.

I'm thinking of opening a tortilleria somewhere on the north side but I am still undecided. You can't find any fresh tortillas here.

As for tamales, my mom makes the best tamales and she moved here with us this year.

Chicos on Zarzarmora and Gillette. They have the best empanadas. You get the filling in every bite. They also have the best Campuchanas.

Chico's! Now you're talkin'! That's my neck of the woods. San Antonio Bakery on Palo Alto Road was good, too, but I haven't been there in a while.
