I now pay less (for the same level of service) for both car and house insurance combined with Texas Farm Bureau than I did with my house insurance alone with State Farm!

State Farm does not treat their long term customers right.
Another vote for Texas Farm Bureau. I called them for a leak, they replaced my entire roof and paid me for damage repair on the ceiling and mantle. Two of the estimators I called out commented that they were surprised they were paying for a new roof and one specifically stated that Allstate would have just paid to have it patched.

My rates haven't went up.

It's a good company and it supports Texas farmers, plus you get go to the annual potluck. It's more like a co-op than a traditional insurance company, so you have to pay member dues. The coverage and benefits are top tier.

I have no idea who their agent is in San Antonio, I joined at their Boerne office.

Just a FYI. Your homeowner's insurance rates, unlike your auto rates, are not tied to your individual claims history, but rather the company's overall claims experience in certain geographic areas, and, a variety of other factors, including some regulatory and some economic. But NOT based on the specific claims you make. Just thought you might like to know that for future instances of your HO rates going up. And, there are usually ways that you can reasonably reduce premiums, too, such as increasing deductibles, changing coverage amounts, etc. Usually best to discuss all this with your agent when rates go up to help with making a decision to possibly switch to another insurer. If you are getting "apples-to-apples" coverage and service with lower premiums, that's good for you, just be sure that's really what you're getting.

I've been pretty happy with Ameriprise coverage with the Costco members' discount. Moved all the vehicles and home to them and they've always been competitive with others, and no problems with the few claims I've had over the years. There's a link on Costco's website.
