Same question I can chose to live in Uvalde or possibly Del Rio. Any info on these areas would be appreciated. I have four kids from 13 to 10 months old. We would be relocating from sunny southern California. We have lived in Anchorage, AK and Wasilla, AK.

I can only speak for Uvalde as my son used to live there. The weather may wish you never chose such a place. It's so hot, humid, and miserable. Overall though, I saw Uvalde as a relatively nice town way down in south Texas. At least it's farther from the border than is Del Rio, but Del Rio weather wise would be just as miserable. It isn't pretty there either, but if you drive a bit north in Uvalde County, a few dry-looking hills will be present, changing from the flat look to a few bumps. Coming from California and Alaska, oh my, I don't think you'll be pleased at all.
