Here in Michigan, this summer, we have been getting a lot of moles. These animals really can do some damage to lawns. I was wondering if you have problems with them in San Antonio....We will be moving there in a few months. Thanks

I've never seen a mole here, and I know what they look like as we had 'em in Germany and Belgium.

Given the rockiness of the ground in this part of Texas, it would have to be one heckuva mole that would be capable of burrowing in it!

No, triple digit temps and drought for months on end are what kill lawns here...

Cheers! M2

My mom used to flush out the little gophers out of her garden with a water hose, as a kid it was fun to see the water that we were putting down one hole come out a few yards away from another hole. So yeah, we experienced this but this was 25 years ago and I was a kid and this was outside of the city limits.

Are moles, gophers, and groundhogs all the same thing?

They'd need a jackhammer to get through most of the ground here. No moles. The only ones that'll do damage to your lawn live above ground and for the most part are easy to control. Hell, deer are the WORST.
