It looks like it's going to be one of those smaller Walmarts that just has groceries, which is nice. We can use another grocery store out this way, the HEB is way too crowded all the time.
That HEB is horrible. To top it all off you need a map and a legend to navigate the parking lot.

Not only that, but if you use the crosswalk by the pharmacy drive-thru, there's a spot at which the wheels of the shopping cart lock up and you can't get your cart to the car. They put in some kind of system to keep people from stealing the carts but they didn't plan the boundaries well enough.

Here's the city limit map for that area. The blue line is the San Antonio city limits; everything to the right of the line is in the city (and thus covered by SAPD); everything to the left (in green) is unincorporated (and thus covered by BCSO).

So the SAPD you saw at Marbach and 1604 was outside of his jurisdiction.

Yeah, but Texas law allows Extraterritorial Jurisdiction. I wonder if that is in the cities ETJ?
Also, I have noticed in Leander (different city, different police department) a uniformed Austin Police Officer patrolling MetroRail platforms last week, and a couple of other times that I was out that way.
Turns out the cities transit agency hires Austin Police Department on a contract basis, through a ILA.

I also found this:
Marbach Rd. and Marbach Oaks Dr. Near New Walmart Neighborhood Market, San Antonio, TX 78227 - Vacant Land For Sale on Cityfeet.com
Drove by this today and noticed it's already tagged up with gang graffiti- and it's not even opened.
