For BBQ, I like the BBQ Station on 410, Rudy's is ok and 2 Brothers. You could also take a road trip to Dripping Springs and go to the Salt Lick or any of the places in Lockhart. Both are about an hour away. For texmex, all the ones mentioned are good. I'd add Jacala to the mix. Welcome to SA, I'm glad you're liking it here. As others have said, wait till its starts to cool off and you'll really love it.

For BBQ I pick Rudy;s on 151 & Westover Hills. Never had a bad expierence. For Mexican I love going to MamaCitas over on Callaghan and 10. Excellent food and service. ElChaparrel in Helotes is very good but always packed and very loud.

Quick, while they are not here go to the Alamo Drafthouse. Have some pints. Makes for a relaxing evening.

I agree with this!

There may be cheaper out there, but I have had now 4 cars done there (extended family another 3 cars) and have always been extremely happy with the work they have done.

I second the salt lick road trip. In the fall when its nice and breezy, its nice to sit outside. I do not even like bbq, I dont like the sauce or taste but I tried it at a family outing a few years ago and fell in love with the sauce as well, its the only bbq I will eat. Also spring for the beef ribs if yall ever make it out there.

Salt Lick (last time we were there) was a BYOB location....so if you want to enjoy with adult beverage...you need to bring your own. We LOVE to go there (spring and fall) for our fix!
