While this is one of my least favorite parts of the city to be in, this kind of stuff happens anywhere, A case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm sorry that happened and I hope that you were able to stop all those charges from appearing.

another trick is when the ladies are pumping gas, usually the thief comes in the other door, where the ladies put their bag. most cars have the pump on same side of driver. while you turn around to put your CC in the machine, well, you purse is gone. or they can have someone distract you by just asking you a silly question. while the friend is taking your purse in the car. always lock your door when you pump gas. just don't leave the keys.

Time for her to get a concealed carry permit.

Anyone who tries to rob me with a knife is going to get something they're not expecting

So glad your wife is okay physically, I am sure mentally she was pretty shaken up. The first thing I do when I come out from any store is take my purse and put it on the backseat floorboard and lock the doors, then I open my trunk manually... I also do the same when pumping gas...

That's what I was thinking. I got my CHL a couple of months ago, but I still haven't found a good way to carry my gun. I went out and bought a small .380 and tried it with a pocket holster and inside-the-pants holster.

She won't do guns...hard for a woman anyway because they usually don't have a good place to carry them except the purse and unless they see it coming they are just giving the gun with the purse.

I carry an LCP in my back pocket...someone asks for my wallet and they are giving me permission to reach for my LCP

When we lived on the west side I told my girlfriend not to go to the Walmart there on Military without me. Just walking through the parking lot makes me feel like there is a crime in progress.

I'm suspect there is good video from the Target, but also video from the Wal mart and gas station. The car he was driving was probably stolen too though. But where did he rent the videos? An actual store or a Redbox?

Unfortunately, this town isn't the same that it was 30+ years ago... life was so much easier and safer then.. I do feel sympathy for your wife. I too have been robbed years ago
