Default Shots being fired on far west side.

Did anyone else here around 7:30ish a couple of nights ago an automatic weapon being fired? I swear, my wife and I got home around that time and we were walking into our house and I could have sworn that coming from the area between Marbach and the Walmart, we heard in the distance something sounding like an oozie being fired. It freaked the crap out of us. I know some noises can be mistaken for other things but this actually sounded like what I am describing.

What else is new? The far west side is not the near west side were any gun fire is more likely. Though on the far west side there is more undeveloped land and it probably was someone testing a gun or like SAGreed mentioned, could have just been something that sounded similar to gun fire. This definitely wasn't in a residential community or directed at humans as there was no police report for "gun fire" in that area in the last few days.

That's pretty common in the Marbach area. Always has been.

Marbach inside the loop isn't "far west side". What SAGreed is talking about is outside 1604.

Exactly. Before Walmart I would hear the occassional gun shot of course due to hunting and also the coyotes howling like crying babies in the night but this was different. I grew up on Brownleaf so you're not going to tell me that the area is the same all throughout Marbach. There's a world of difference.

I may not be that different for long if your neighbors are already breaking out their Ozzies.

There is a shooting range outside 1604 on Grosenbacher near Marbach. Could have been from there.

, You got me there. That’s why I was so surprised. As far as automatic weapons, I thought they were illegal?
