people forget that part. it is the same money. Schools aren't any cheaper if the developer pays or if the taxpayer pays. It is just a matter of who pays when. Either the home buyer pays financed over 30 years and suffers the interest rate wrath - coupled with a bit lower property taxes. Or the taxpayer pays a higher tax rate every year.

It really is all the same money.

I guess you - Joe Citizen - wouldn't have to pay if you didn't buy a new home. However, does that mean you can't use the new school?

Stone Oak is full of palaces. Their Elem schools are bigger than my old high schools. It look like a mall rather than a school.

I agree that the schools are VERY nice (too nice) but what if they put all the kids in portables, then the parents would be griping about that. It's a no win situation.

I do have to admit that in the small town where my kids go to school, they just built a new middle school, it is nice but by no means is it extravagant. It has everything that the kids need but it is not a "palace" by no means. They needed a new school, the kids were going to school in the same building that their grandparents went to but of course, they had added A/C. I also went to that school too, but we only had fans and they were always pointed at the teachers
