Retiring from the Army soon and planning on moving to New Braunfels area. Does anyone know about the KB Homes in the Cap Rock Subdivision? I know KB has had a bad rep in the past but was wondering if anything has improved and how that area is over there off of 46.

There's not a KB home in the world I'd be willing to buy. Period.

Just like with any builder, it will depend on the construction supervisor as to the quality of your home. I've seen friends go with what most people would consider an excellent builder and end up with more issues than I have had with my KB.

I have a KB Home in the Houston area and had a very involved and quality oriented construction supervisor for the subdivision I bought in and ended up with a home I'm very happy with. The few warranty issues I had were handled within 24 hours and repaired correctly the first time. I know several very satisfied KB Home owners in various cities, some who have been in their home for nearly 20 years now.

Are there bad KB homes out there? Yes. Are all KB homes bad? No.

Not familiar with the subdivision you mention though as it's been quite a few years since I lived over that way.

I went to check out that community and TBH it looked like a bad area to me, and the subdivision looked lame. Not to mention that the houses look so cheaply built, specialy the windows.
