Arrow Cold Thanksgiving Forecast:

The strongest blast of cold air of the season will come overnight on Wednesday bringing in chilly temperatures on Thanksgiving. Rather than this being a one or two day deal -- this cold air looks to stay at least through the mid part of the following week.

Here's what the models show:
12z GFS
138 hr

144 hr

Behind the cold front, expect an off and on steady cold rain as we should have a steady overrunning situation last throughout the later portions of this week and into the weekend. Winds on Thanksgiving will be around 20 MPH with gusts over 30. Temperatures will top out only in the low to mid 50s with lows in the mid to upper 30s.

If the temperatures trend even colder, we may even approach the freezing mark here in town -- and a somewhat realistic shot of maybe having some sleet mixed in deep in the Hill Country.

Bundle up, I'll post more as the forecast becomes clearer

Its snowing big time up here in Minneapolis right now. I'm flying home Wednesday so it looks like I'll be bringing the cold with me.

Glad we are staying put this Thanksgiving. I will be nice and cozy at home, preparing for carb overload.

Temps will be about 25 degrees cooler on Thursday as compared to Wednesday, according to the forecast I read. I guess it is time to put the Jeep back together. I hate cold weather, and one of the reasons we moved back here from Belgium was due to the fact that I was sick and tired of scraping an inch of ice off my car every morning for several months of the year. If you want cold weather, than move back north; this is south Texas and I prefer to have shorts weather year-round!

Cheers! M2

I need a change of pace from constant warmth. I just moved from Florida and I cant tell you how awful it is to never have a nice cool down. My son is 4 1/2 and he's never had hot chocolate

I am hoping to introduce him to the wonders of tiny marshmellows floating on top of the steamy, choclaty goodness on Thursday!!!

Sorry to all the warm weather fans but I couldn't be happier to get a little blast of cold. That's the great part about South Texas is once you get sick of the cold, it's gone!
