So I have the opportunity to work from home and there is this annoying dog on Oak Path-The Summit II that barks ALL day long. He is chained up outside in the back yard...but just won't stop. I had my windows open since its such a nice day but that darn dog just wont stop...any ideas besides going over there and confronting my neighbor personally?

Do you have an HOA? If so, do you know the President or a board member? Also, are the neighbors friendly with you or would it be a battle?

If there is an HOA....call the management company and complain ASAP....you are probably not the only one that is bothered. If you do have an ear on the board, let them know too...either by email or a phone call.

You could try speaking with your neighbors but then it could get a little dicey and you could be living beside them for a long time.

Good Luck.....I would imagine that we all have been there at one time or another.

Call 311. They'll place a call to the neighbor and say that the neighbors are complaining.

might want to let the neighbor know that chaining up a dog in the back yard isn't exactly nice either.. I personally can't stand people that get dogs without taking a personal oath to take care of them for life. Makes you wonder what they do with their kids..

I think the "311" service is more for service issues not barking dogs in a neighborhood.

Maybe a sleeping pill in a hamburger

I think numbers .45 or 9 will help out tremendously. Just kidding, just kidding.

I would just approach your neighbor like a grownup, and try to have a civil conversation about it. It's not like you are taking away their birthday. I really think people try so hard these days to tiptoe around. No, don't barge over there and be a jerk, but you have a legitimate complaint regarding all the noise coming out of their backyard. I don't think it's fair to you or the dog. But they might just see the light if you come at them right. I mean, you're trying to work. And the poor puppy! I'd bark all day too.

Call Code Enforcement or Animal Services and file a formal complaint. You should be able to remain anonymous.

I suggest a note on their door. Anonymous is fine. Daily, if necessary. Give them a chance to take care of it before you call the authorities.
