Thoughts on the new casablanca lofts near pearl brewery? I know construction has been suspended for a while but they're promising unit availability by Dec. $300/mo HOA fees sound steep though.

Why was construction suspended?

Those are steep. HOA fees for my 1600 square foot loft in SoFlo is around $150/month. The HOA fees will keep increasing each year also.

I went to the opening a month or so ago, and it seemed like a neat project with a good price point, especally since it's the only for-sale project in the Pearl area.

I don't know anything about construction stopping. Is it more than just the bunch of rainy days that we had last week?

It's 'Casa Blanca,' FYI.

Toured this earlier in the year and looked interesting, but the location isn't great for the HOD they're charging. Odd intersection. Too close to the highway for my taste. Lots of road noise. It's not at The Pearl, but instead in the very transitional Gov't Hill area.

Just looked up how much they are asking, and the prices are way too high IMO. If you had a nice view then I could understand the prices, but you have views of the highway, rundown buildings, and bungalows.

I wonder how large the "dipping" pool will be? Size of a hot tub?

I think the prices are in line with new construction near downtown. Your mortgage there will probably be less per month than renting one of the new nearby apartments.

There are cheaper places to live in San Antonio, but there aren't any newer condos near pearl that are cheaper.
