We are looking at these different leagues and are hoping to get feedback from any members who have had experience with them.
The NW Raiders are in the Pop Warner league
Brennen Jr Bears are in the NAJIFF league
Wildcats and SA Predators are in the TYFA league

Any one have any experience with these leagues/teams? Pros/Cons?
Thanks!

Default Tyfa

We recently moved in to the area and played TYFA ball. We liked it because our son is large for his age and there are not any weight restrictions. However, if your son is small, then this may not be a good feature. The other thing is that there are not any mandatory play requirements, AHC means every child does not necessarily play in every game. My son did get to play every game but others did not. TYFA is also super competitive and the fans can be a bit extreme. We have had players get hurt while parents from other teams heckle.

My son use to play 6 plays per game when he played for the raiders back when he 5 all the way until he started middle school cause the coaches would only play their kids most of the game ,yesterday I saw my son in his first year as a varsity player and was very proud to see him beat out some the kids that were in front of him when he played as a raider, I was actually wanting to call out all you coaches and elected officials but I have to realize that it is voluntary to do what you do but all ask if your still coaching is go to that little kid that's small and does not play a whole lot and give him a chance cause he will one day be 6ft tall and be on a varsity squad somewhere and he will remember you for something positive. All those Saturday mornings of frustration with him not playing are finally a reality of Friday night lights and makes you feel very proud as a parent so parents don't give up as long as you kid has that dream he has a future.
