This is great news for SA realtors. Think of all the commissions to be made off the hundreds of high-end homes that will be sold.

When we moved here, a realtor told us that development in Rogers Ranch was spurred by the SBC's acquisition of Ameritech. Apparently, a lot of Ameritech executives moved to that part of town.

Is Rogers Ranch an area from which we should expect to see a lot of homes go on the market, as the 700 families relocate north?

I imagine a number of Terrell Hills/ 09 homes might be going up, although I wouldn't say very soon. I imagine spouses and children might be left behind, to finish up schooling.

Someone above made an interesting point about homes going up for sale in 09 due to this event. Is there any way to tell where these folks live and will sell? Seven hundred households is a lot...

Oh, and I'm not a full-time UTSA employee. I've said that a million times! I'm an occasional adjunct! By the way, the UTSA students are delightful. It's the admin that has its head up its you know what

Here's a good article from today's Real Estate section in the Express-News, discussing how the AT&T pullout has created a glut of $500,000+ homes on the market.
