Hi, I will be relocating from Detroit to San Antonio next week....I will be living off Evans Road
in Stone Oak....I'm looking to buy all new furniture....I don't need top of the line, but not looking for El Cheapo as well....Any suggestions where to look in that area? Also, here in Michigan we negotiate on price at the furniture stores....Same way in SA? Thanks

That's more possible at higher end furniture stores such as Louis Shanks, Stowers Furniture or John William Interiors. You may be able to negotiate with the franchise retailers like Star Furniture or Ethan Allen but I've never tried.

Welcome to San Antonio

I know you said new but there is an auction every Tuesday at Vogt Auctions off Broadway and Boardwalk I believe. Great deals and fun times.

Ashley furniture has good middle of the road furniture at reasonable prices (for new). I've had good luck finding nice furniture on craigslist at great prices. You just have to be patient.

But yes, every furniture store i've been to has had wiggle room on negotiating.

When you find something you like, price it online for comparison before purchasing it. They may not match the online price, but at least you will know where you are at in range.
