I agree to disagree......I have lived all over the US...from the Newport Beach to Lake Shore Drive in Chicago to New Orleans to Philly and I must say that every area has its pros and cons. While one may offer charm and another may offer beautiful views, they all have benefits and each one is unique.

I don't think that there is a "sacrifice of attractiveness" for affordability by choosing Texas over any other state, including Mass. There are many reasons people choose where they live: family, job, climate, etc. and each reason has a level of importance. Money to spend on a home is not the only factor in choosing where you live. We relocated here from Orange County, Ca and frankly we could have moved wherever we wanted because afforrdable housing was not an issue. We choose here for the beautiful scenery of SA , the charming and accessible downtown, the proximity to family and the slower pace of life.

It is funny.....many posts tend to deride San Antonio and Texas as a whole but yet the same people choose to live here. I find that incredibly confounding. JMHO

Yea SA is a very underrated city-Where else can a city get toll roads without being on the ballot box , 100 million schools at a drop of a hat and the homeowner's favorite charity is paying their property tax.
