That is the same address as Bill Miller Bar-B-Q at Loop 1604 and Potranco. I haven't seen any theaters in that area yet.

Did a little digging around at the Bexar County Assessment District page. It's a little spooky, the information that's out there. Go to www.bcad.org and do a property search on yourself sometime.
Anyway, according to that property search, HEB owns the property *just* behind the gas station/Subway on the southeast corner of Potranco and 1604. The next property south is owned by Santikos, so it looks like the theater will be on the inside of Loop 1604 a little south of Potranco.

Bcad
Roger that RedOregon. I have been using BCAD.org for about 8 years now. As far as the theater goes, there is still just a sign (starting to fall over).

I believe construction on that theater will begin once the Santikos theater at The Rim is finished.
Also, there is a retail development planned for 1604 and Marbach.

Wouldn't surprise me. I sent Santikos an email once inquiring about status; they answered me nicely and said it should open in July 2006. Sent another one the other day, never got an answer.
I'd agree with your assessment... they probably put off the low-dollar theater in favor of the high-dollar one. I guess they didn't take into consideration that the Potranco area is going to have LOTS of people REAL soon, and that would be the ONLY theater in easy driving distance for a LOT of people. Nearest one is either at Bandera or over near Ingram.

The one off of Potranco won't be a low dollar theater. I believe they think with one already at Bandera and 1604, that the need t start construction isn't as important as the one at The Rim which will go up against a AMC theater being built at The Shops across the freeway.

I would hate for the apartments going up to bring the housing values down because I plan on selling. I am also across the new Wal-Mart and want to go further down Potranco, possibly Bella Vista. I have noticed soot or something that has been causing a film that has been landing on my vehicles. I took it to Ming and they said it was overspray. I washed the vehicle and it came off. The problem is I have to laser wash them about twice a week. At 8 bucks a pop, it’s not fun. Has anyone else had any problems?

Roger that. I didn't mean low-dollar as in admission, I meant low dollar as in not quite as an expensive part of town. I still think they'd have a higher ratio of customer per capita near Potranco than up north.

1604 & Potranco Development
Does anyone know if there are any plans to put in a bookstore like Barnes and Noble/Starbucks at 1604 and Potranco? Any confirmation on a Kohl's going up by the Walgreen's at 1604 and Military in the 78253 zipcode area? What other new busnesses wiill be going up? It sure seems like they have plenty of nail care places on each corner. I for one would like to see an old fashion Ice-Cream Parlor/Shop built in that area of 1604 & Potranco. Any thoughts?

talk2becky,
You sound like me... I was trying to find out where the nearest bookstores and libraries are, too. I don't need a mall, but I will go nuts without a Borders or B & N. We are looking in the northwest part of town for a home and I know from experience that when you are new in a city, book clubs can be great places to meet people! Just from what I am learning and reading on here, I would be very surprised if they don't build one off of 1604/Potranco or near Alamo Ranch... pretty sure the closest one now is off of Bandera.
