Thanks...will do that. We went to the one near DeZavala, but have not given this one a try yet!

Just came from the "invitation only" soft opening of the Pei-Wei at Potranco and 1604...what a FANTASTIC place! The food was awesome, had a nice bottle of wine with dinner, Jules 07 and her hubby joined us and we all are THRILLED that there is a great place so close to home to enjoy!!!

I am picky about asian food (having lived in Asia for 21 years) and this place met and exceeded my expectations!

I could LIVE on the Vietnamese Chicken rolls, and they make their Chinese mustard FRESH!!!

Barbara the General Manager for all the Pei-Wei's in San Antonio is a delight (Austin transplant...so SOME folks like SA over Austin) and the entire establishment, attitude and energy was fantastic.

WELCOME PEI-WEI TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THANKS FOR AN AWESOME EVENING!!!

Thumbs up Pei Wei

Dang! Can it be that we have such a swank place within a few minutes of home??!! Fellow Far West Siders - rejoice! LOL! Seriously tho, I/we hadn't been to the other Pei Wei locations, but had been to PF Changs frequently. Nearly identical quality! We'll definatly be back, and often! Very fresh, nice atmosphere, a welcome change for this side of town. And really not expensive - we'll take the whole family!

I have also heard about Disney getting cheap land outside 1604 near 151 (much like many of the corperations did to build their campuses in the area when it was first expanding). I have heard that they are just hanging on to the land for now and might not even build.

I would love to know more if anyone else knows anything though.

Do a search on this forum for Disney and you will find the remains of a herd of horses that were beat to death. Also, I believe land out near where you're talking runs about 6-8K/acre. Could be cheap or pricey depending on your perspective.

Cupcake Junction does have really good cupcakes. I stopped by close to closing time and they still tasted like they were just baked. The good part is that it isn't a big franchise. The nice lady inside said that it was just something that she always wanted to open. It's nice to see something different in the area.

I asked the guys at Papa Murphy's when they were going to open and they said hopefully tomorrow. The guy also said he planned to open 3 other in the SA area.

There was a bar therea short time ago. Some of my neighbors went and didn't have a good experience. (They said it was a dive.) I wonder if it's the same owner. It'd be nice to have a place nearby to chill out, without fear that is.
