The Cuarto Corner pic #2 looks interesting because besides showing where this planned retail center will be on the south side of Military Drive...it also has drawings of the larger planned development on the north side of Military where the previously mentioned Kohl's and assorted other retail could be if it all pans out.

This is like the 1980's when too many strip malls were being built. Take a look at the strip mall on Marbach and Hunt Lane. What we need are more restaurants and how about a few new car dealerships?
I don't think that will happen, firstly, the retail is following the rooftops and grow is uge out in that area, in the 80's SA wasn't growing at all.

Default Where is the best place to put a business in this area?

Thank you for the great info. I am looking at opening a business in the area of potranco and Culebra around 1604. I am undecided where the best place is to go in (culebra or potranco)? Or maybe wait for Alamo Ranch Marketplace to open up. Any ideas? Is the market ready there to support a higher end service/product. What is going to happen on 211? I keep hearing things about it, I am not even sure I know where it is?

Default Academy at Loop 1604 and Potranco

The long mentioned Chili's restaurant is now drawn in facing 1604 just to the south of where the church is located.
I was at the Academy store on Loop 410 and Military today and happened to ask the cashier when they are going to build an Academy store on Loop 1604. She said the deal for the one at Loop 1604 and Potranco fell through (no further details). Has anyone heard anything else?

The Barshop & Oles real estate site where the initial info came from still lists Academy on its site plan for Potranco Village. I'd be very surprised if Academy decided at the last minute to pull out of their lease and not open a store in arguably one of the fastest growing areas of San Antonio.

Funny, I went to Academy a few days ago (same one) and saw the manager...I asked him and he said it was "pushed back some" and that things were still on track, just delayed. Perhaps that is what the cashier was referring to. I would HOPE that the manager would be the more informed of the two.
Also was in Sam's Club off of 410 and Exchange Parkway day before yesterday and asked about "heard there was a Sam's planned for the Potranco & 1604 intersection near the new Walmart"...they all smiled and said "this has to be the poorest kept secret in town"...so I am assuming that means yes too!

Default Plans for land next to the new HEB+ ?

Has anyone heard of plans for the undeveloped land right next to the new HEB Plus at Potranco & 1604 (to the south/east of HEB)? I believe some of it is where the Madison Market is going, but I haven't heard of anything else - there's quite a bit of land back there.

Here's a link to details about Potranco Village for those who haven't seen it:

Thanks for the URL. It's nice to see a Starbucks going up so close to the house.

Does anyone know what they're making next to the Valero on Potranco/1604? I see them clearing out the land, but not sure what's going up there. It's between the HEB Plus and the Valero. Anyone?
