Yes, we loved the Papa Murphy's on Dublin in C. Springs! Boy, I wish we could get a good breakfast place off of Potranco... Village Inn, Jim's, Denney's, or even an IHOP.

What about the COSCO? Is it going to Potranco and 1604 or not.

Next to Valero is supposed to be a retail strip. From tall2becky (posted 5/10/07 in this thread):

I see they started clearing for the Whataburger right next to the Taco Cabana. Throw up a couple of good resteruants, and a video rental joint. And you hardly have to leave the area. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

We had one in Grand Island Nebraska that was great. And there was one in San Diego but it was too far away. But it is really good and very reasonably priced. I agree I think it will make a killing too. Thanks steelman for clearing up for me whats going on behind Valero. Another strip mall....suppose a few more nail salons?

Default Walmart is now open

I went into the new Walmart on Patranco and 1604 today, and it was surprizingly slow for a Grand Opening. I think most people don't realize that it's open yet. So keep this to yourselves.

I drove by last night around 8:30PM and there weren't many cars in the parking lot. Heck, the county probably didn't know either as the new signal was still blinking yellow. I have noticed that Walmart doesn't advertise much compared to HEB. We get a circular every week from HEB Plus in the mail, but very rarely see one from Walmart. Same goes for Sunday paper ads. Maybe this is one of the reasons Walmart's sales are down. As they say, the wheel that squeaks the loudest gets the grease (or something like that).

We stopped by yesterday, also. My little granddaughter loved the live band! People seemed really friendly and helpful, of course it was opening day. One thing that I hate is having to show my receipt when I leave. Is that typical here? I ask because I never had to do that in our old state. Is shoplifting that much of a problem in San Antonio?
