Default Another 78253er

Southwest Corner of Loop 1604 and Potranco (outside the loop):

A new Super Wal-Mart is under construction and is scheduled to be completed during early 2007. Rumor also has a SAM's next to the Wal-Mart. Also, a new retail/multifamily project called Potranco Pointe will be located on some 20acres of land at Loop 1604 and Potranco Road (just west of Wal-Mart). Plans call for about 27,000 square feet of retail space and a 160-unit apartment project called Potranco Ranch.

Default More Loop 1604 & Potranco

Northwest corner of Loop 1604 and Potranco (outside the loop):

A new strip retail center, dubbed Madison's Market, is planned for the northwest corner of Potranco Road and Loop 1604. There will be a Payless Shoesource as one of the tenants. Construction should begin by late Fall and have some stores by Summer 2007. This will be across from the new Super Wal-Mart. On this side, and up the road at Loop 1604 and Military (northwest side next to Walgreen's), there is also going to be another shopping center called Westcreek, that will encompasses 300,000 square feet and should have Kohl's (88,000 SF) as one of its tenants. Plans call for opening in 2008.

Construction is on-gong for a new retail center, to be christened the Potranco Village Shopping Center. The project will encompass 32 acres of land at the northeast corner of Potranco Road and Loop 1604 (behind Bill Millers). There is a Wells Fargo Bank nearing completion on the side facing Potranco. There are several more entrances from Loop 1604 under construction.

What ever happened to plans to open a 16 screen movie theatre on 1604 somewhere between 90 & Potranco?

Also - where exactly is this new Super Walmart going to be? I havent seen anything except the HEB going up - but then I rarely go on Potranco outside 1604. Is it going to be up there somewhere?

There is still a sign, but nothing else. There is some land that was cleared across from HEB (west side of Rousseau) that is owned by HEB, but may be a possible site for the theaters.

As for the Super Walmart It is going up on Potranco just outside of Loop 1604. Do you remember that old Mendoza Tire Shop (painted yellow) that used to be on the south side of Potranco. It is that area and further west. They are just preparing the ground at this time.

Is this the small Spanish Motif shopping center I heard about a year ago or so that is supposed to be south of the Valero at Loop 1604 and Potranco?

It's a Santikos development that will be home to the 16 screen theater. Santikos Granada 16.
